FRIENDSWOOD - Friendswood police have arrested an ex-convict and jailed him for possession of bags of methamphetamine and narcotics paraphernalia.

Christopher Patrick Metheny, 43, of Pearland, formerly of Houston and Friendswood, was arrested following a traffic stop after officers notices him swerving across lanes.

Methany was sentenced to 8-years in prison in 1972 on a drug charge, plus 7-years probation.

Police say he consented to a search of his car and officers discovered almost 7 grams of methamphetamine powder, a set of scales and other evidence which prompted them to charge him with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver.

Methany is being held in jail in lieu of $40,000 bail.
