MOUNT BELVIEU - A 54-year-old Baytown man died Wednesday morning in a head-on collision that turned into a seven-car pileup and tied up traffic on Highway 146 for more than four hours, authorities said.

Gerardo Moncivais was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which occurred in the 14000 block of Highway 146 North. That is just north of Mont Belvieu, across the Liberty County line, according to Mont Belvieu Police Chief Virgil Blasdel.
